Serving Mundelein, IL — Part of Our Lake & McHenry Counties Service Area
Mundelein went through three names before settling on the one it has now. The village incorporated on February 1, 1909 as Rockefeller, was renamed Area in July 1909 after the Sheldon School motto, and finally became Mundelein in April 1925 — named for George Mundelein, the Archbishop of Chicago who had begun purchasing the former Sheldon School estate in 1915 and opened the University of Saint Mary of the Lake on the site on October 5, 1921. Mundelein was elevated to cardinal in 1924 and dedicated the school on May 25 of that year. The seminary is still there, still operating — in 1929 it became the first pontifical university in the United States, and the historic campus library is open to residents.
Diamond Lake is the village's natural center — a 153-acre glacial lake in south Mundelein with a maximum depth of about 24 feet. Diamond Lake School District 76, established in 1847, is one of the oldest school districts in the county. The streets around the lake hold a mix of vintage cottages, post-war ranches, and newer lakefront builds, each with its own specific maintenance pattern. Away from Diamond Lake, Loch Lomond is a neighborhood with private lake access and a distinctly different housing character, and Sylvan Lake serves as another small-lake pocket to the north.
From the Hawley Street corridor to the newer west side, Mundelein's residential build-out spans generations. The older neighborhoods off Hawley Street and Midlothian Road hold 1950s-60s ranches and split-levels. The newer subdivisions — The Fields of Ambria, Winchester Estates, Kenloch Park, Countryside — are vinyl-sided 1990s and 2000s builds with asphalt driveways, aluminum gutters, and vinyl fencing. A new 155-home single-family subdivision from Pulte Group was approved at Winchester Road and Route 83, and AREA Apartments is set to open in 2026 in downtown. The downtown itself, centered on Route 83, has a mix of older commercial buildings and a growing residential component on Plaza Circle.

Yes. We clean lakefront siding, decks, boat docks, and seawall pavers regularly. Homes near the water build algae and mildew faster because of the humidity, so we soft-wash siding and use the right pressure for wood decks — no stripping, no damage.
Once a year for siding and decks. Diamond Lake drives lakefront humidity — algae on north-facing cedar, mildew on dock posts, black streaking at the waterline on the older cottages. Loch Lomond private-lake homes carry similar humidity load at smaller scale. Vinyl-sided 1990s-2000s subdivisions show the usual shaded-wall mildew. Century-old buildings in the downtown Route 83 corridor need soft-wash to protect old brick and mortar. Driveways and walkways benefit from a wash every 12 months too.
A typical driveway runs $200–$300. A full house wash is usually $300–$600 depending on size and material. Brick paver restoration and sealing is quoted by square footage. Every quote is free and there are no surprises.
